EFG Hermes UAE LLC Launches Market Making and Liquidity Provision Services on Dubai Financial Market

EFG Hermes UAE LLC (EFG Hermes UAE), a regulated financial entity by the Capital Market Authority (CMA) in the United Arab Emirates, a unit of EFG Hermes, the leading investment bank in the Middle East and North Africa, announced today that it has launched Market Making and Liquidity Provision services on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).

The launch strengthens the firm's established presence in capital markets and aims to enhance market liquidity and trading efficiency. The service is designed to support liquidity, deepen markets, and facilitate efficient price discovery for DFM-listed securities. By combining global reach with a comprehensive suite of capital-markets capabilities, EFG Hermes UAE positions itself as an investment bank that can engage UAE-listed companies and investors throughout the entire capital-raising and trading process.

DFM’s Market Maker programme supports liquidity, market efficiency and orderly trading across listed securities. By providing continuous two-sided quotations, market makers enhance order book depth, narrow bid-ask spreads and facilitate effective price discovery. The programme improves execution quality and investor confidence, while increasing the visibility, accessibility and attractiveness of DFM-listed companies, contributing to a more vibrant and resilient capital market.

Khalifa Rabba, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Financial Market, commented: "We welcome EFG Hermes as a market maker on DFM, an addition that reflects the continued evolution of the market's ecosystem and the growing role of institutional liquidity provision in supporting efficient trading. The firm's participation supports continuous two-sided pricing across DFM-listed securities, enhancing liquidity, improving execution quality, and reinforcing Dubai's position as a leading capital markets hub."

Ahmed Waly, Global Head of Brokerage at EFG Hermes, commented: “As the region’s leading brokerage firm, our overarching priority is to continuously elevate execution quality and market efficiency for our global and regional clients. Launching market making and liquidity provision services on the DFM represents a strategic evolution of our platform. By pairing advanced execution technology with our deep regional footprint to deepen market depth, support efficient price discovery, and enhance liquidity, we are ultimately helping reinforce the UAE’s position as a premier global capital markets hub.”

Amr ElShamy, Head of Electronic Trading and Execution Services at EFG Hermes, said: “In today's fast-moving markets, execution speed and system reliability are what allow a market-making franchise to actually deliver on liquidity commitments. Our electronic trading infrastructure is built to support that, and this launch on DFM lets us bring continuous, high-performance two-sided pricing to institutional and retail clients alike.”

Raymond Wasef, Head of Market Making & Liquidity Provision at EFG Hermes, said: “Launching market making and liquidity provision on DFM extends our broader brokerage and investment banking services, spanning research, corporate access, and capital markets. We leverage our global reach, comprehensive capabilities, and strong governance to connect UAE markets with international investors, supporting liquidity, market depth, and efficient price discovery. Market making is part of our broader role in supporting companies’ access to capital, connecting investors with opportunities, and contributing to the UAE’s continued development as an established leading global financial centre. Deeper, more liquid markets attract more participants, and greater participation creates stronger markets. That is the virtuous circle we want to help build.”

By adding liquidity and deepening the connection between local markets and global capital, EFG Hermes UAE aims to play a constructive role in the ongoing development, efficiency, and international reach of the UAE’s capital markets.
